I was first introduced to Last minute holidays when I mentioned in passing to my work colleague that I need to book a surprise holiday for my parents as it was their 40th wedding anniversary.  I explained to my friend at work that I need to book a good quality holiday but one that was in my price bracket. A few months ago I went to the National Exhibition Centre to a holiday show.  Last minute holiday had a very outstanding stand there, which immediately drew my attention.  The staff were extremely friendly and offered very good and genuine advice.  Claire Jackson the girl who gave me details on a few holidays that I was interested in asked me if I would like to enter a competition, to have the chance for to win a VIP holiday to Dubai for two people.  I decided to give my details and never gave it another thought until approximately three months later when I received a letter in the post, the letterhead said ‘You’ve won a holiday’ in bright red letters.  I could not believe it I had won the competition to Dubai.  All I need to do was to call the Last minute holiday office and confirm which dates I wanted to travel on and from which airport. I still thought there was a catch however was reassured by the member of staff that I spoke to at the Company.

I gave the holiday to my parents and indeed it was all genuine and they thoroughly enjoyed it and will be booking their future holidays through Last minute holiday. They are planning to go to Goa in India and hope to get a good deal.  Apparently, some close family friends have been to Goa and booked their holiday through Last minute holiday

Last minute holiday also offer a reduced rate for old aged pensioners which is always a good incentive when booking a holiday.  They are always mindful how the elderly can struggle when travelling hence they have plenty of staff available.  They also have interpreters in order to avoid any language difficulties.  Last minute holiday have made it much easier and simple to book holidays!

 

Last minute holidays also have special deals for group bookings especially for school trips.  Our local secondary school recently booked a holiday through Last minute holiday.  52 children and 10 members of staff went to France.  Feedback from a survey completed by all who travelled revealed that everyone thought it was a very good quality holiday.  The school will be booking future holidays through Last minute holiday.

 

I am booking my next cruise through Last minute holiday.  It will be a cruise from the United Kingdom to India.  It will take 30 days but will be a life time experience as I will be stopping in many different countries on route.  The ship is a very big one and will cater for 3,500 people.  Last minute holiday are also offering deals of buy one and get one free ticket.  Hence it is a real incentive to book through them.  If I book before the end of the month I will get a free upgrade as well.  I would like an outside cabin.  Last minute holiday are also always very flexible, and can make arrangements a short notice as well.

 

Last minute holiday provide a service for all age groups and make every effort to ensure that each customer gets exactly what they need and never feel let down. Having decided to go on holiday to Cyprus in October 2008 my wife and I began searching the Internet for the best available deal.  Having spent some time looking at different websites it was clear that last minute holidays offered the best package. 

 

Not only were there prices extremely competitive but the website was very user-friendly with an easy to understand layout.  The links were clearly highlighted and navigating around the web site was straightforward.  We have often found that when booking holidays other web sites are quite complicated with a huge amount of information packed onto one page.  However, with last minute holidays the information was easily accessible and we were also able to search for just flights or the hotel and flights as a complete package, which enabled us to make an informed decision.  It was very useful to see photographs of our hotel and holiday destination too as this cemented our decision to use last minute holidays to book our holiday.  In addition, last minute holidays provided some useful information in terms of approximate transfer times and precisely what was included in our holiday price e.g. the services of a local representative.  Our experience has shown that other travel web sites omit this kind of information.

 

Having decided on the best package for us (a 7 night stay in a 4* hotel on a half-board basis, flying from Manchester) we went ahead and made our booking with last minute holidays.  Again, we found last minute holidays to be very user-friendly in processing our booking.  There was detailed information about the ticketing process, which clearly explained that our tour operator would contact us after making the booking and that we would receive a confirmation email (as notification that the tour operator had received the booking and was processing it). 

 

One of the most useful features we found in booking with last minute holidays was the ability to also take out our travel insurance at the same time as made our booking.  This certainly makes it easier to book a complete package holiday using last minute holidays.  In addition, it was extremely helpful that last minute holidays display their phone number, not only on their home page, but also throughout the booking process.  This was useful as my wife & I wanted to get some clarification over the star rating of the hotel we had chosen.  This was because on alternative web sites the same hotel had been given a different start rating.  We rang the telephone number as we already knew last minute holidays were open as their website clearly displays the opening times of their travel experts.  The phone call charges were only 10p/minute (as detailed on the last minute holidays web site), which is so much cheaper than other travel booking companies.  Our phone call was answered speedily and the last minute holidays travel expert we spoke to (Julie) was extremely pleasant and could not have been more accommodating.  She explained the star rating to us and also provided us with some additional useful information about our holiday destination and hotel as she too had been to the resort we were booking to go to and knew colleagues who had stayed at the same hotel that we were enquiring about. 

 

Having spoken to the last minute holidays travel expert, we then went about completing our online booking.  We confirmed the dates of our holiday and input our credit card details and the booking went through fine.  We received our confirmation email in a short space of time which provided us with a last minute holidays order number and summarised the information we had input into the last minute holidays website e.g. the flight details, the hotel name and address, length of our stay and payment details.  All in all, my wife and I were very impressed with the complete end-to-end service that last minute holidays provide.

 

The last minute holidays holiday itself was great and we were surprised at exactly how much of a saving we had made by using last minute holidays when compared to the price that other people we met on holiday had paid for their holiday using different websites/travel agencies.  We recommended last minute holidays to the other holidaymakers who said that they would definitely be using the website for their next holiday if they could make the kind of saving that we had made.  Approximately three weeks after returning from holiday, we received a further email from last minute holidays, which essentially asked us for feedback about our holiday including the following:

- Standard, cleanliness, service & location of the hotel

- Whether we would use last minute holidays again
- Whether we had booked with last minute holidays before
- What brought us to last minute holidays for the purchase of our holiday

 

The last minute holidays feedback email also provided us with an opportunity to comment on any other aspects of their service.  My wife & I felt that this was again another very good ‘tool’ that last minute holidays utilise.  The emails stated that the feedback provided could be used on last minute holidays website to help other customers “do something last minute holidays”.  Our comments could also be made anonymous should we so wish.  We had not hesitation in providing feedback – all of which was positive.

 

Three days after submitting our feedback my wife and I received a final email from last minute holidays, which thanked us for taking the time to provide feedback.  As mentioned earlier, this again cements last minute holidays as a business, which offers a great end-to-end service.  We will certainly be using last minute holidays again and would have no hesitation in recommending them to friends and family.
